We started the day by getting up with Josiah- about 5:30am. But that was alright the morning of the 4th, because we had much work to do. Cupcakes needed to be frosted, sandwiches constructed, balloons acquired, and toys strategically placed around the back yard. At 11:30 the guests arrived and the fun began.
Josiah has the privilege of sharing his birthday with Baby Kate. Kate (no longer a baby!) was born in California, but her family moved out to the Cape when she was a just a handful of weeks old, so they have pretty much always been nursery buddies. We gave the party a loose "blue and pink" theme, just to give us some direction in making choices.
After naps, we talked to the proud grandparents on Daddy's new iPad. The kids are big fans. And by kids I am absolutely including Dave :) Josiah also opened a few gifts and read cards.
We ended the night singing "Happy Birthday" one more time. It was a happy birthday indeed :)
Yum! Cupcakes and lots of fun! That’s nice. Happy birthday to him! I am also eagerly waiting to have a baby with my fiancĂ©. We are getting married this year in one of the San Francisco wedding venues and I am very excited to start my new life with him. He is also my childhood buddy!
