Happy 8 months, Lydia!

We just love the personality our little darling is developing. It shines through in fun and surprising ways as Lydia cements her presence in our family. She both loves to be with people and have focused time playing alone, though she most likes to have someone nearby. Her laugh is infectious and her affection dear to all our hearts. We love our big girl!

Weight: home scale says about ? lbs

Diapers: size 4 and cloth
Clothing: 12, 18, and 24 month (depending on where it needs to fit!)

Likes: moving, claiming a toy she set in her sights, climbing on the big kids, being tickled, seeing food headed her way, the pacy, splashing in the tub
Dislikes: noticing that it isn't mom holding her, grass

Schedule: We are in a nice flow right now and as Bible study and MOPS wind down and we have more days at home I am finding that Lydia is napping much more consistently. She still has a dream feed, which has been helpful as her top two teeth pop through.

7:00am Awake for the day!   Nurse and sometimes banana
8:30-11am   Nap
11am   Nurse
12:30-3pm   Nap
3pm   Nurse and solids
5:00-6pm   Nap
7pm   Nurse and solids
7:30  Back down for bed
9:30 or 10pm   Dream feed and down for the night!

Sleep: She is generally taking three solids naps a day with the first two being longer than the third. If we are running errands or at an activity, she tends to completely skip a nap more so than falling asleep on the go. Teething aside, she is sleeping well through the night and we are all feeling better for it!

Physically: Crawling has been Lydia's big trick of the month. She is quite mobile these days and has transitioned from a mostly army crawl to regular back and forth on her knees. I think warmer days and fewer tights and socks have helped tremendously. She is sitting up well and has even pulled herself up a few times, which totally freaked her out since she couldn't get herself down. Her hair is coming in slowly, but surely, and is still a very light brown. When she is really happy her nose crinkles a little in a super cute way. Lydia has also learned the joy of waving at people.

Food: Lydia generally loves eating and regularly eats cereals, squash, sweet potato, green beans, peas, and banana. We haven't given her finger foods yet. She is delighted to occasionally sign "all finished" and gets really excited if you know she is done and sign it to her.

Next appointment: Monday, June 8 at 8:30 am

Sweet girl :)

This is her "watching the carousel spin" face. You know we all have one!

Sarah asked me to take this picture of my girls

The eyebrows tell the story. Girl wants some brownie, Dave!

Lydia's "save me" face :)

Just licking the window while I watch the big kids play.

It takes a lot to go on a jog with three kids . . . most importantly it involves Dave being home!
Sarah was very excited to sit next to Lydia :)

Sitting up!

They also got to be shopping cart buddies.

I'm getting the impression that I'm going to need to obtain a pair of hot pink leggings to fit in here . . .

Oh those cheeks!

Who wants to nap when they could be sitting up?

And who just sits up when they could be pulling diapers off the drying rack?

Lydia is gnawing a plastic spoon, her go to distraction when we eat out.

:)

"Ready to step in, mom?!"

After church, on May 3, the big kids were napping and it was a beautiful day,
so Lydia got to hang outside with mom and dad!

On Josiah's birthday, Lydia got in on the "threes" action and held up her hand to the camera, just like the big kids.
